Find out more about Bill.

The business started in Barrow upon Soar in 1984 when my father acted as guarantor for an £8,700 loan from Lloyds Bank. I operated from various home offices until 2000 when the business moved to its current Shepshed premises. Initially a Loughborough taxi service – shoppers in the day and students and revellers at night - I quickly picked up a number of lucrative corporate accounts driving business people to airports. Immediately I knew this was the space I wanted to work in – my customers were smart business professionals, appreciative of a clean and timely service, and there wasn’t any fighting outside the kebab shop at the end of the evening!

Over three and a half decades I’ve been privileged to work with some amazing people at MovementsUK. We’ve come through a number of recessions and significant world events and today the business continues to thrive, thanks again to a committed and dedicated team with a common goal. At whatever time of the day or night, my trusted team turn out to meet our customers, dressed immaculately with a well-presented vehicle and always always always on time.

We’ve been very lucky to have some loyal, long-standing customers, some of which have been with us from the very start! And over the years I’ve had the honour to drive many inspirational business leaders who have imparted sage advice, much of which has helped me to develop the business. I don’t get to drive as much as I used to but occasionally I can still be found completing the odd airport transfer and still enjoy getting out of the office and having a chat with our customers.

Away from work, I live on the edge of the Charnwood Forest with my lovely wife Emma, Harry (13) and Matilda (15). Oh, and there’s a dog, Ursula. My eldest daughter, Samantha, lives in Manchester and I’m a grandfather to a lovely boy called Grayson, which makes me very proud. I enjoy spending time with my family and chauffeuring my children to their various social, sporting and school engagements. In terms of hobbies, I try to stay active by getting out on my bikes as much as possible. I attend a gym twice weekly and like a round of golf when time permits.

As my team would no doubt tell you, I am somewhat of a perfectionist and one of the most important things I constantly strive to deliver is an exceptional customer experience and consistency across the business. Becoming an average service provider is not an option I'm willing to entertain!
